Little Wang is a story about a lively and resilient Chinese woman who immigrated to Japan as a young adult, experiencing difficulties in adapting to the new language and cultural environment. Author Yang Yi won the prestigious literary Akutagawa Prize in 2008, and is so far the only non-native Japanese speaker to win the award.
